New works for woodwinds featuring Larkspur Trio and Reed5

Following their performances at the International Double Reed Society Conference in Boulder Colorado, the Larkspur Reed Trio was formed during a hike in the Rocky Mountains. The trio was walking through a field full of wildflowers (including larkspur) as they began to formulate the ensemble, now the Larkspur Reed Trio. Since the organization’s inception, the ensemble has performed at The International Clarinet Association conference in Denver, Colorado, Dublin, Ireland, and Forth Worth, Texas, and they performed at the International Double Reed Society Conference in Flagstaff, AZ. The trio has a strong passion for music education working to reach youth around the world through live performance and educational videos. With a grant from the Minnesota Regional Arts Council the trio collaborated with author Alexandra Alessandri and composer Alejandra Odgers to create a brand new musical story with the children’s story Isabel and Her Colores Go To School. The program was performed live in Minnesota libraries and throughout Tennessee and Kentucky. The ensemble has presented their “Educational Entrepreneurship: Creating Your Own Path as Performers” presentation at the College Music Society Conference in Washington, DC and ClarinetFest in Fort Worth, TX. The trios next venture is “From Sea to Sky,” a program for adults about phenomenal women and their impressive stories. The ensemble will share this program at retirement communities and nursing homes throughout Minnesota.
